In the crowded hall "Borik" in Banja Luka, in front of 6,000 spectators, on Tuesday, March 21, 1978, Partizan defeated Bosnia after extra time with 117:110 and won its first European trophy, the Radivoj Korac Cup. The team led by Ranko Žeravica achieved a great victory after extra time, since after 40 minutes the score was 101:101. Dražen Dalipagić was unstoppable and scored as many as 48 points, while Dragan Kićanović added 33, with an excellent defense against Delibašić. Perhaps the deciding factor that evening was the play of Partizan's young centers Miodrag Marić, Boban Petrović and Jadran Vujačić, who completely outplayed the centers of Bosna, Radovanović, Đogić, Krvavac and Bosiočić. The "Žućko's Left" cup was handed over to captain Praja Dalipagić by FIBA Honorary General Secretary William Jones. Partizan played that evening with the following lineup: Todorić, Kićanović 33, Kerkez, Petrović 4, Babić, Marić 21, Vujacić 11, Beravs, Pešič, Dalipagić 48.
