POP 2 - "European Premiere"
By winning second place in the Yugoslav Championship in 1966 (the champion was Olimpija Ljubljana), Partizan won its first appearance in European club competitions. The black and white basketball players played the first game in the newly established European Cup Winners' Cup against the Turkish team ITU, at the Belgrade Sajmište, and won with a score of 80:58. In the rematch in Istanbul, another victory was achieved (75:71), so Partizan advanced to the second round, where it was eliminated from the famous Italian Ingis (Varese), later winner of the Cup Winners' Cup for that year.
